Speaker: Tenzin Dickyi (Dhela)
Brief Biodata: Born and raised in South India and California, Dhela currently lives in China, where she recently completed a two-year Chinese language program at Tsinghua University. She is also part of an online teaching start-up company with three other people. Dhela enjoys teaching, public speaking and reading but her biggest passion is disability rights, a passion she found while working in the US State Department’s Special Advisor on International Disability Rights office. Her more recent work experience includes working for TEDx Beijing team overseeing partnership portfolio and managing projects; previously also worked on civilian security issues in Africa in the Under Secretary’s office at the US State Department; and shortly after undergraduate, held a paralegal position for an immigration law firm in New York City. She holds a BA in International Relations (IR) from UC Davis, a Master’s in IR from Harvard and a Legal Studies Diploma from NYU. Dhela looks forward to pursuing further education in the near future.
