About Khen Rinpoche: Khen Rinpoche’s ordained name is Logoan Tulku Tenzin Jampa Choesang. He was born in 1969 at Kalimpong, India and recognized as the reincarnation of a venerable master, Lawa Jampa Choephel. At age 14 he joined Sera Jey Monastery. At ages 15 and 25 he received his Getsul and Gelong ordinations, respectively, from HH the Dalai Lama. After studying under many great masters, he received his Geshe Lharampa title in 1994. He then studied at Gyuto Tantric Monastery under the late 103rd Gaden Tripa Jetsun Lobsang Tenzin.

Rinpoche has taught at Sera Jey, as well as other Dharma centers around the world. In 2008, the Dalai Lama appointed him to the post of vice Abbot of Gyuto Tantric Monastery, where he eventually became Abbot, serving his three year term with distinction. In 2016 the Dalai Lama appointed him Abbot of Sed-Gyued Institute of Buddhist Studies, where he served until he was appointed by the Dalai Lama to become Abbot of Sera Jey Monastery. The Abbot Enthronement Ceremony was held on March 24, 2017, when Rinpoche commenced his Abbotship of Sera Jey.
